What about the psyche of a "healthy" adult?
What does healthy actually mean? And how much do our surroundings, the culture in which we live, shape us?
SPIRALDYNAMICS is a model about the evolution of consciousness of individuals and communities. It describes social development stages and the connection or relationship between a person and his environment. It is about beliefs, values and rules of life: What drives people? How do they think? How (not what)!!
According to this, there is not one kind of "healthy psyche", but rather a cyclic development is described, which runs as a (spiral)-dynamic in the direction of increasing complexity concerning the development of mind-brain abilities.
At the beginning there is the pure existence, at the preliminary "end" the idea of a holistic self.
The consciousness oscillates at first between I- and WE-orientation, between individuality and collective. The mental competence to orient oneself in a given reality of life is considered. If there are "problems" in doing so, the individual or the system has to update or develop itself again and again.
SPIRALDYNAMICS is based on theories of the American developmental psychology professor Dr. Clare Graves based on worldwide studies in different cultures. Graves' students Don Beck and Chris Cowan developed the SPIRALDYNAMICS model from this.

The model begins with the BEIGE layer. Symbolically the baby at the breast. This is about bare existence. Satisfying needs and survival: Eating, drinking, sleeping, warmth, protection or safety - survival of the fittest.
In relation to mankind, the BEIGE phase is located in grey prehistoric times (primeval man), while every single human being starts as an infant on this level of consciousness.

PURPUR - gives us a sense of belonging. In the tribe, as well as in the family, a person finds his roots and enjoys the security of the community. Respect for the ancients, blood ties, sacrifices and rituals are among the characteristics of this level. The world is full of spirits, mysticism, magic and superstition.
Infants (about two years old) are at this level of consciousness.
"The world is small", the laws of the ancestors apply, little individuality and many taboos - this leads to a lack of diversity and development and calls RED on the scene.

RED is pure assertiveness. Problematic manifestations are violence, war, conquest, exploitation and egocentricity, while resources lie in heroism, leadership, control, power and willpower or individuality. Thus, red interaction patterns are found in natural human development in children between 3 and 6 years of age, when humans develop ego consciousness and discover their self-efficacy.
On the societal level, red energy gives rise to empires, feudalism & Co.

Today, every person, every society gets to RED on its own. For BLUE there needs to be a collective, hierarchy, agreements and norms, which stand before individual interests and apply to all.
For Blue there is only one truth, which is proclaimed and enforced by an authority. In the small system by the parents, in the large, for example, the church, the state, etc. ensures law and order. The violent submission behavior of RED is met by BLUE with structure, rules, control. An absolute belief system applies and regulates the togetherness. Stability and security have their price in rigid structures and limiting rules.

ORANGE loves improvement, new beginnings, strategy, success, prosperity, brands, science, innovation, autonomy ... Competition and rivalry spur pioneers on to peak performance in this phase. The downside of all performance orientation: calculation, identity crisis, consumerism, optimization mania, materialism - burnout.
Historically, industrialization is an orange classic.
In relation to the individual, we recognize early ORANGE in children between 9-14 years.
Late ORANGE acts efficiently in the competence area - performance person / achiever.

The values of the GREEN level are harmony, peace, fairness, equality, freedom, humanity, love, empathy ... This phase is characterized by the search for (inner) peace. The GREEN ideal is a just community of people in which there are no differences and in which everyone is seen and heard.
Green virtues are ultimately only made possible by, for example, blue order and orange prosperity from previous stages of development. However, GREEN sometimes overlooks this and pretends to be virtuous. -
All stages before YELLOW tend to reject the values and attitudes of previous stages.

YELLOW is characterized by a systemic, integral consciousness. "Collective individualism", i.e. important selfhood AND diversity, quality, mindfulness, flexibility, competence and synthesis. For YELLOW, people are not (as in GREEN) all equal (and therefore not all to be treated equally) - but all people are equally valuable.
It is about healing a sick world, about restoring the balance between people and nature. Taking responsibility, creating flow and pleasurable self-expression (but not at the expense of others!).
